Treatment of chronic and acute lumbar and cervical pain

Lumbar and cervical pain are the most diagnosed chronic ailments. About 60% of the population claim to suffer from back pain and it is estimated that 80%  will suffer an episode of back pain at some time in their life and of these, 60% will be low back pain and 30% cervical pain. The Asunción Klinika Spine Pain and Surgery Unit, coordinated by Dr. Francisco Fasano, is responsible for responding to this problem and other spinal pathologies.

SPINE SURGERY

The objective of spinal surgery is to treat the pathologies that cause back pain to the patient, using advanced techniques that allow decompression, realignment and stabilization of various vertebral structures.

The evolution of spinal surgery has changed a lot. Before, surgeries were much more aggressive, with larger incisions, resulting in greater postoperative pain and many days of hospitalization.

.

This reality has changed thanks to techniques such as minimally invasive surgery . Advantages of this type of spinal intervention:

  • Smaller incisions , thereby minimizing aesthetic impact

  • More limited and shorter interventions in operating room time

  • Shorter anesthesia

  • Safer and more effective interventions
